Scotland's Wood Group to work Iraq's Majnoon oil field
ABERDEEN, Scotland, May 13 () -- Scottish oil services company Wood Group said it secured a one-year contract to work in the Majnoon oil field in southern Iraq.Wood Group said it secured a services contract from a Shell company in Iraq for work at the oil field near the port city of Basra.Wood Group,Cheap christian louboutin, which has headquarters in Aberdeen, cheap christian louboutin, said Majnoon is among the largest oil fields in the world, with an estimated 38 billion barrels of oil reserves. Shell serves as the operator in a partnership with the Iraqi government. The one-year contract, effective in June, is to test new production facilities and equipment at the field. New facilities include pipelines and associated infrastructure."We will be supporting Shell on the start-up and commissioning of its facilities in the Majnoon field until steady state operations are achieved and the facilities begin operations," Wood Group Middle East Director David Buchan said in a statement.Political disputes and national security issues are hindering Iraq's full energy potential. While southern port regions may be stable, bombings and assassinations have sparked concern from the United Nations in recent weeks.
