Official: Russia having trouble meeting FIFA standards for World Cup
MOSCOW, June 20 () -- Specialists in stadium construction will help Russia meet international standards for arenas for the 2018 World Cup, an official said Thursday.Daniil Izotenkov is head of Arena 2018, a company selected by the International Association of World Football, usually known by its French acronym FIFA,christian louboutin pigalle, to ensure the stadiums meet FIFA standards, christian louboutin sale, RIA Novosti reported. He said all of the stadiums now under construction are falling short."This is linked with the absence of experience in working on stadiums, so we are bringing in foreign specialists with experience of creating stadiums for the World Cup," he said. FIFA has a rigorous and lengthy list of requirements for everything from media areas to VIP facilities and total capacity of World Cup venues. In Russia, problems with FIFA standards have been blamed for the lengthy delay in completion of the 69,000-seat Zenit Arena in St. Petersburg, originally scheduled to open in 2008 and now expected to be finished in 2016. Izotenkov said the experts have worked on such renowned stadiums as Wembley in London and the Amsterdam Arena.
