British-French company tells of Democratic Republic of Congo plans
LONDON, Oct. 25 () -- British-French energy company Perenco said Friday it's committed to drilling off the coast of Democratic Republic of Congo through March 2014."The campaign is focused on several fields: Lubi, through the resumption of an existing well that was never put into production, Liboa, fitflops sale, two development wells in the southern zone, Tshiala, an appraisal and water injection well and the Moko, an exploration well," the company said in a statement."The campaign, started in mid-April 2013,gucci outlet uk, is scheduled to continue until March 2014."Perenco, which has headquarters in London, said in June 2012 it reached 28,000 barrels of oil per day at production facilities in the republic.Advocacy group Global Witness said oil production planned for the DRC could complicate the security situation and threaten the environment. The U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory for the republic this week, warning of a national security threat posed by the rebel March 23 Movement. The CIA World Factbook reports the DRC produced 20,160 barrels of oil per day in 2011, the last full year for which it has information. The country ranks 71st in the world in oil production.
