My sincere condolescences to this young mans family. I have been travelling on this stretch of road for a number of years at rush hour and can say that this hill is a favorite place for people to overtake as you can see almost to Duddon Bridge from High Cross. I have seen many close calls here and it is no surprise to me that there has now been a fatality. Not for one minute am I saying this is what caused the accident. I'm just pleased I don't have to drive down that end of the county very much. It was a nightmare travelling from Millom to Broughton-in-Furness and further south,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as a child,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even though traffic flow wasn't as bad then as if is now. The whole road infrastructure in West Copeland and Furness leaves a lot to be desired! My heartfelt sympathise go to Mr Benson's family and friends.
ALISON as a daily 595 user myself i can safely say ur comment that there is no such thing a a dangerous road as dumbfounded. You have a major coast linking road that in some parts is no wider than 7foot yet is used by 10s of 1000s cars per day including full size frieght lrries,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mixed with mud and slurry from fields,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], major pot holes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], graveldangerous drivers etc. Council is probably ran by people with ur attitude and thats why nothing gets sorted on these roads. Pipe down love and get ur facts right.
