To the excitement of many, Saskatchewan's own local King, Rory Allen will be performing in front of hundreds at the Dakota Dunes Casino Aug. 27,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], making Allen one of the many artists to perform at the casino this summer.
"Rory Allen is always huge. He's very big all over Saskatchewan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Canada and the United States,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Pamela Nykolaishen, entertainment co-ordinator for the Dakota Dunes Casino,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who says they are excited to bring a crowd favorite like Allen to the Dakota Dunes stage.
Allen will be performing Aug. 29 and Nykolaishen says this show will be a little bit different from Allen's usual performances and will leave Elvis fans much pleased."For him to be performing with Elvis Presley's original quartet is something that doesn't usually happen on the prairies. You usually have to go to Vegas or someplace to witness that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Nykolaishen.
The show is called Rory Allen Viva Las Vegas! with Elvis Presley's Imperial Quartet and Allen will perform the crowd favorites All Shook Up, Don't Be Cruel and I Can't Stop Loving You to a intimate crowd of 570 people in the Dakota Dunes Tatonka Tipi Room.
Allen is just one of the performances Nykolaishen is excited about, after the Dakota Dunes recently wrapped up one of their biggest country star performances yet.
"For us, Randy Travis is the most well known entertainer that we had here at Dakota Dunes Casino. It will be the only show where minors can (attend),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said Nykolaishen.
Saskatoon's own jazz extraordinaire,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Maurice Drouin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], will delight dinner audiences with his a show called Summertime on June 24.
Dakota Dunes will also celebrate Canada Day with a bang by putting on a dusk fireworks pyro musical show July 1.
Old-time rockers will be treated to an evening with Dr,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Hook featuring Ray Sawyer on July 27.
Known best during the '70s and '80s for their breakthrough song,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Cover of The Rolling Stone, the eye-patched lead singer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Dr. Hook left his previous music band and is now joined by Sawyer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who also carries a similar sound.
Three celebrity Playboy cover models will be on hand July 27 for patrons to visit with,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. The models will be walking around the gaming floor taking pictures with customers who have casino mermberships.
