Jury picked in Madison Township murder case with video,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
A Lake County Common Pleas Court jury went to the scene of the crime Friday afternoon after being selected in a murder case,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Zachary Weimer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 23,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is accused of burglarizing and killing 77-year-old Eleanor Robertson of Madison Township at her Canterbury Drive home to get drug money.
After less than two days of jury selection,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], seven men and five women were chosen to hear the case before Judge Vincent A. Culotta. Three alternates also were selected.
Opening arguments are scheduled to begin Tuesday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
But first,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], prosecutors and defense attorneys showed jurors where the crime took place.
Yellow police tape still surrounds all of Robertson's blue and white ranch-style home,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Jurors also went to the Austinburg Township home of Danna Weimer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the defendant's mother and co-defendant. The home has nine surveillance cameras on the property.
A Lake County Crime Lab expert testified at Danna's trial about a pair of Zachary's shoes that were found at his mother's house. When criminalist David Green talked about how the shoes matched footprints found at the murder scene,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Danna Weimer began sobbing.
