Phone, Web users in Tibet meet real-name registration law
BEIJING,Christian Louboutin Outlet, June 19 () -- Internet, land line and cellphone users in China's Tibet Autonomous Region have provided their real names to providers as required by law, officials said.Data from the regional communications administration indicated 2.76 million fixed line and cellphone users, along with 1.47 million Web users, registered for services under their real identities by the end of last year, christian louboutin outlet, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported Wednesday. The real-name registration is meant to protect the user's personal information and deter the spread of harmful information, said Nyima Doje, deputy director of the administration.Since the registration rules were implemented, the level of junk messages, or spam, sent via the Internet and phones in Tibet has fallen by more than 40 percent, Doje said. The growing popularity of the Internet and cellphones brought with it problems such as circulation of online rumors, pornography and spam messages, Dai Jianguo, a member of the commission of legal affairs under the regional people's congress, told Xinhua."The real-name registration will help resolve these problems while benefiting the long-term, sound development of the Internet," Dai said.
