This run starts out boney and tree-infested with the creek meandering through a beautiful little valley. After a few hundred yards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the creek descends into a very deep gorge,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], plunging almost 450 feet in elevation over the 3-mile length of the canyon. The creek has a gradient of over 160 fpm for the first mile,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lets up a bit for the second mile (120 fpm),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and finishes in grand style for the third (160 fpm). This is steep creeking at its absolute best: continuous rapids,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], blind drops,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], few eddies,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], pin spots galore. Character: gorge; forested.
