Qatar makes good on promise to send LNG to Egypt
CAIRO, Aug. 5 () -- The first of five shipments of liquefied natural gas from Qatar arrived at an Egyptian port to help address energy concerns,[url=http://www.christianelouboutinoutlet.com]Louboutin Outlet[/url], the Qatari government said.Tight demand for energy in Egypt exacerbated frustration with post-revolution political developments. The Egyptian military removed President Mohamed Morsi from power July 3.Energy research company Wood Mackenzie, which has offices in Houston, in June said natural gas production from Egypt should stay around 6 billion cubic feet per day and is not expected to increase much beyond that for the rest of the decade.Wood Mackenzie said Egypt could find short-term relief with natural gas from Qatar. Qatar sent a tanker filled with natural gas from its port city of Ras Laffan last week. The Egyptian Independent reported Saturday the first shipment of LNG arrived as a gift from QatarIt cited an anonymous Qatari official who told the Qatar News Agency the LNG shipment was meant to help Egypt "reduce the impact of the energy crisis on the Egyptian people."The Egyptian government reported in June, before Morsi's ouster, the Qatar government committed to sending five shipments of LNG as a gift to address summer energy needs.
